Reflective writing

The last assignment for my research paper was a reflection of the research process as a whole.
I found it difficult to write less descriptive and more reflectively. I am able to critically analyse things, point out strengths and weaknesses, and suggest how things could be done better.
Hopefully this was enough to communicate my thoughts and experiences.

The marking criteria was a fairly vague “A critical evaluation of your experience with the research process, with new areas of learning and successes or difficulties noted”.

Reflective writing reminds me of a concept I learnt while training to be a teacher, ‘metacognition’, which means thinking about thinking:
